The elections for the renewal of the Committee of Italians Residing Abroad (Com.It.Es.) 

will be held December 3, 2021 (art. 14, ¶ 3, Law n.162/12.302019, converted into Law n.118 of 02.28.2020). The Committee of Italians Residing Abroad are elected bodies which represent the interests of Italian citizens residing abroad in their relations with the Diplomatic-Consular Offices and work towards the integration of the Italian Community residing in the Country of residence.

During this important election, only voters who meet the legal requirements for voting, who are registered in the AIRE (Registry of Italians Residing Abroad) and who reside in the consular jurisdiction for at least 6 months (prior to the date of the elections) qualify. Voting will take place by correspondence, but, unlike the political and referendum elections, the voting packet will be mailed ONLY to those voters who have expressly requested to be registered in the voter registration list for the Comites election at least thirty days prior to the election date.

ATTENTION: to receive the voting packet, the voter must submit a request to their Consulate of jurisdiction no later than November 3, 2021, to be registered in the voter registration list.

Italian citizens residing abroad and registered in the AIRE (Registry of Italians Residing Abroad) may already register now in the voter registration list by means of the consular services portal Fast It, at the following link: https://serviziconsolari.esteri.it/ScoFE/idex.sco by selecting the function dedicated to the election: “Domanda di iscrizione nell’elenco elettorale per le elezioni dei Comites” (Request for registration in the voter registration list for the the Comites). The procedure on the Fast It portal is completely guided and digital, for a maximum speed and safety.

As an alternative option, the citizen may submit their request to be registered in the voter registration list for the Comites elections by submitting the registration form, duly completed and signed, in one of the following ways:

1. in person, by appearing before this Consulate with a valid ID document (after securing an appointment); 2. by mail, together with a photocopy of a valid identification document of the voter bearing their signature to: Consulate of Italy in Detroit, 400 Renaissance Center, Ste.950, Detroit, MI 48243; 3. by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots.
