L’atteso appuntamento annuale con Opera in the Italian Cultura Garden torna domenica 29 luglio dalle 18,00 alle 19,30 nella splendida cornice dell’Italian Cultural Garden a Rockefeller Park a Cleveland. L’iniziativa, presentata gratuitamente dall’Italian Cultural Garden Foundation con il generoso sostegno di Italian Sons & Daughters of America Ohio District, offre ad un pubblico di appassionati sempre più numeroso meravigliose arie di alcuni tra i più famosi compositori italiani interprati dalla Cleveland Opera e dal  Cleveland Ballet. Un’occasione perfetta per introdurre i bambini ai grandi maestri dell’opera, mentre ci si rilassa sul prato del Giardino, il monumento culturale italiano a Cleveland.

The popular, free concert “Opera in the Italian Garden” will be presented on the lawn of the beautiful Renaissance Italian Cultural Garden Sunday, July 29 from 6-7:30 p.m.

The concert highlights one of Italy’s greatest cultural arts featuring famous music from well-known operas with The Cleveland Opera and the Cleveland Ballet and is offered free to the public by the Italian Cultural Garden Foundation through the generous support of the Italian Sons & Daughters of America, Ohio District.

It’s a perfect opportunity to introduce children to the great Italian operatic composers while relaxing on the lawn of Cleveland’s cultural monument to Italy in Rockefeller Park.

Bring family, friends and a picnic or enjoy freshly cooked wood-fired pizzas in this bucolic Renaissance space. Matteo Silvaggio of Little Italy Wines will once again be offering free wine tastings for concertgoers.

Old newspaper archives mention the “Opera in the Italian Cultural Garden” was first performed in the 1930’s and throughout the 1940’s as a cultural offering for the public. It was noted that the Italian Cultural Garden, at that time, was the center of cultural activities in Cleveland presenting art exhibits and concerts at Severance Hall for the general public.

This free concert continues the tradition of offering the cultural arts of Italy to the Cleveland public. Each year since 2008, the concert has broken attendance records: last year drawing 3,200 people from Northeast Ohio. Free concert, free parking, wood fired pizza, and wine -- a perfect summer evening!
