Dinner at Home Family Club: Fridays

6 - 8 p.m. Adults $20, ages 8-13 $10, children 7 and under free. Cash bar. Open to the public, no reservations needed.

 

Pasta and Chef’s Choice Entree dinners at Southwest Italian American Club : 1st and 3rd Fridays

$12 for complete pasta meal: salad, entree with meat of the week, pasta with home-made sauce, dessert, cash bar. SWIAC is located at 7510 Snow Rd., near Ridge Rd. in Parma.

 

“Michelangelo: Mind of the Master:”

Spanning Michelangelo’s career and major projects, a group of rarely seen drawings shows how the Italian Renaissance artist conceived the figures that appear in his finished works, including the Sistine Chapel ceiling and "Last Judgment" fresco.

Works from the museum’s collection survey the impact of Michelangelo on the history and practice of art in Europe in the 1500s and beyond. On view are prints, drawings, and sculptures by artists who copied, imitated, or took inspiration from the Italian Renaissance master.

Student researchers Jacob Emmett, Kylie Fisher, and Julia Laplaca share their insight on works in the exhibition and offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the curatorial process. Space is limited. Free, ticket required.

12-1:30 p.m. -  Intermediate/Advanced level

$120 Non-member, $100 Member

Designed for individuals with no previous 

knowledge of Italian or those who were exposed to the Italian language but are in need of 

studying or reviewing the basics.
