Alessandro DiBattista of the anti-establishment Five Star Movement has called for a referendum on ditching the euro which could be a key issue in the next election. DiBattista said he is not opposed to an exit from the European Union but did support a referendum on the euro. “The currency has shrunk Italians’ buying power and earnings and has caused unemployment and social deprivation,” he said.

L’esponente politico ha affermato di non essere contrario all’ipotesi di uscita dall’Unione Europea ed ha dichairato che “l’euro ha ridotto il potere d’acquisto e gli stipendi degli Italiani, introducendo il rischio di povertà ed esclusione sociale”.
