Morgan Motor Company, one of the last remaining British-owned carmakers, is to be bought by an Italian Investment firm. The 110-year-old classic sports car firm sold a majority holding to Italy’s Investindustrial which owns stakes in a broad range of auto brands including Aston Martin and Ducati. Jill Price, the longest-serving director and family member, said: “Having very carefully considered all options for the future success of Morgan, the family concluded that this new ownership structure and Investindustrial, have the pedigree and resources to secure the long-term future of Morgan.” Andrea Bonomi, the chair of Investindustrial, said: “We share with the Morgan family the belief that British engineering and brands are unique and have an important place in the world.”

La Morgan Motor Company, una delle ultime case automobilistiche britanniche rimaste, sarà acquistata da una società di investimenti italiana. La Investindustrial assesta così un altro colpo nel settore dei motori, dopo gli investimenti del passato in Ducati e Aston Martin. Il fondo - attivo in diversi segmenti industriali - ha annunciato l’acquisto di una partecipazione di maggioranza in Morgan Motor, iconico produttore di auto sportive britannico che vanta 110 anni di storia. La famiglia Morgan continuerà a rappresentare il brand e manterrà una partecipazione di minoranza nella società. Jill Price, direttore e membro della famiglia, ha dichiarato: “Dopo aver attentamente considerato tutte le opzioni per il futuro successo di Morgan, la famiglia ha concluso che questa nuova struttura proprietaria e Investindustrial, hanno il pedigree e le risorse per garantire a lungo termine il futuro di Morgan.” Andrea Bonomi, presidente di Investindustrial, ha aggiunto: “Condividiamo con la famiglia Morgan la convinzione che l’ingegneria e i marchi britannici siano unici e abbiano un posto importante nel mondo.”
