A very special exhibit of Fernando Botero, Colombian-born painter, sculptor and artist, is traveling through Italy. Fifty of his almost human-sized works are showcased. His paintings with luminous colors undoubtedly exude his Latin American origins with hints of his international travels, especially to Spain, France and Italy. His style is distinctive. His depictions recreate Baroque characters “larger than life.” He seems entertained by the beauty and complexities of his native Latin America: from every day scenes to politics, the clergy, the circus, animals, vegetation and the settings where life unfolds.
