The latest migrant count reveals that sea rescues in the Mediterranean between Libya and Italy has hit a new three-year high. Final estimates for 2016 place the number at 15,000; up 57 percent from the year before. The latest migrants arriving landed in Pozzallo, Catania and Messina, Sicily. Many are unaccompanied minors.

I più recenti dati sui salvataggi dei migranti nelle acque del Mediterraneo tra Libia ed Italia, registrano un numero record rispetto agli ultimi tre anni. Le stime finali del 2016 indicano 15.000 operazioni, con un incremento del 57%  rispetto all’anno precedente. I più recenti sbarchi sono avvenuti a  Pozzallo, Catania e Messina. In moltissimi casi si tratta di minori non accompagnati.
