Pope Paul VI, who oversaw the sweeping “Vatican II” reforms of the Catholic Church in the 1960s, will soon be made a saint, the Vatican announced last month. The pope put Paul VI on the path of sainthood by beatifying him in October 2014. The Pope signed decrees of miracles for both Pope Paul VI and slain Salvadorian Archbishop Oscar Romero leading both men to be canonized.

Papa Paolo VI, che ha seguito le profonde  riforme della Chiesa cattolica durante il Concilio ecumenico Vaticano II negli anni ‘60, sarà presto elevato a Santo, secondo quanto comunciato dal Vaticano il mese scorso. Papa Francesco ha avviato la procedura con la beatificazione nell’ottobre 2014 ed ha firmato un decreto anche per l’Arcivescovo salvadoregno Oscar Romero, iniziando così la canonizzazione di entrambi.
