Italian and French authorities recovered a stolen piece of artwork last month. Last year, French officials announced the theft of the piece, a black image appearing to depict a person mourning, painted by British artist Banksy. The piece had been painted as a tribute on one of the emergency exit doors of the Bataclan, the Paris music hall where Islamic extremists killed 90 people in a terrorist attack on Nov. 13, 2015. The joint Italian-French police investigation recovered the piece in an attic in a home in the countryside of Tortoreto near the Adriatic coast in the Abruzzo region’s Teramo province. As of press time, no arrests have been made.
