Sir Paul McCartney publicly criticized the Italian government in early June over an “outrageous” decree preventing concertgoers from getting refunds on shows that were cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic. Part of his “Freshen Up” tour included shows in Naples and Lucca. Other countries on his tour offered patrons a full refund, but the Italian government offered only vouchers. “It is outrageous that those who have paid for their tickets are not getting their money back,” McCartney wrote. “Without the fans there would be no live entertainment. We strongly disagree with what the Italian government are doing…the organizer of our shows must do the right thing here. We are all extremely disappointed the shows could not take place and this is a real insult to the fans.”

Sir Paul McCartney critica le decisioni del governo italiano in giugno perché pensa che sia un atrocità per le persone che avevano i biglietti per i concerti annullati (per la pandemia), questi non prenderanno alcun rimborso.  Il suo tour, “Freshen Up”, aveva date in Napoli e Lucca, e non ci saranno rimborsi per questi biglietti. Invece, altri paesi europei hanno rimborsato i soldi ma il governo italiano ha dato solo un voucher. Lui disse che senza i fans, non possono essere organizzati i concerti e vuole che il governo italiano ripensi la decisione, e che non è in accordo con loro ed è un insulto ai fans nelle mani del governo.
