Sibling relationships can vary widely in terms of affection and loyalty, as some are very strong and intimate while others can be unemotional and indifferent. The bond that developed between Luca Fainello, born on February 27, 1982, and his younger brother Diego, born on November 27, 1986 was forged at an early age and has endured, becoming stronger with the passing of time. Both have lived their entire lives in the mid-sized northern "comune" (city) of Verona, located in the province of the same name in the northern region of Veneto. They both showed a natural inclination toward music as they grew up in a home where melodies could be heard every day and everywhere.

By 2006, they had changed their name to Domino and began a period of personal evolution, seeking their own unique identity, attempting to distance themselves from being just another cover band. The older Luca was usually seen penning the lyrics to new songs with the younger Diego later adding the accompanying music. They assumed their third and final name "Sonohra," which was contrived as a portmanteau of their appreciation and unabashed reverence toward the large southwestern American desert and its similarity to the Italian phrase "Suona ora" or "Play now."

Both enjoyed taking the less-common and more cerebral acoustic approach to composing and performing. These habits would not go unnoticed as they would meet fellow songwriter and musician Roberto Tini, who would take them under his tutelage, offering his guidance and support. He submitted their initial demo tape to numerous Italian and American record labels until they were eventually signed to a contract with the BMG Italian music subsidiary of the Sony international entertainment conglomerate. Their first big opportunity occurred with an invitation to appear at the 2008 Sanremo Music Festival and compete in the "Giovani" (Newcomers) category. They captured first place as they presented the lovely ballad "L'amore," which earned critical praise and widespread public acceptance. The professionally produced YouTube video version of the song received over 8 million hits becoming one of the top four viewed videos throughout Europe.

Propelled by this surge in popularity, they entered the recording studio that February to release their debut album "Liberi da sempre" (2008), which surged to the upper territory of the Italian charts and remained there for several months. The album was re-released in July and included a bonus DVD of previously unseen new material. Buoyed by the success of the recording, Sonohra released a successful Spanish-version of the album "Libres" the following February, capitalizing on the sizable Spanish and Latin American markets. The album achieved platinum status in Italy, alone, selling over 60,000 units.

They launched a tour in support of their release and the highlights from their sold out September 6th show at the famous Teatro Romano di Verona were captured and released on their first ever live recording entitled "Sweet Home Verona," which achieved gold status. Their international tour included stops in both South and North America and upon its completion, they returned to the studio to begin work on their second recording "Meta" (2010); which was released with much fanfare as it contained the advance singles "Seguimi o uccidimi" and "Baby" which they presented at the 2010 Sanremo Festival in the "Artisti" (Established) category. The album was recorded at London's famous Abbey Road Studios as Sonohra began producing more of their music in English to try and capitalize on the vast American market. The brothers recorded an English language song, "A Place for Us," which would be included on the Italian version soundtrack of the third installment of the ever popular "Tales of Narnia," a fantasy-adventure film series. At the London premiere of the film they sat in attendance with Queen Elizabeth II. Sonohra was also invited to perform at Claudio Baglioni's "O' Scià" annual music festival which draws attention to and raises funds for the immigration crisis plaguing Italy and other Western European nations.

Sonohra sought to make some key changes to their artistic development and did so by enlisting the services of their new producer, Enrico Garnero, and the results were immediate and profound. After disappointing sales figures for their previous recording, their third album "La storia parte da qui" (2012) climbed the charts and displayed a more mature and original alternative rock sound as they abandoned the more commercial pop mainstream approach. Sonohra also included songs that resulted from collaborative efforts with other burgeoning artists. Their ensuing "La storia parte da qui Tour 2012" was well-attended and received and included stops throughout continental Europe as well as the Italian peninsula. Their most recent release "Il Viaggio" (2014) continues their ascension up the Italian pop-rock music ladder and again contains collaborative efforts, but this time with upper-tier Italian talent such as Enrico Ruggeri, who authored the title track, and features the guest vocal talents of legendary Italian combat-rock recording artists Modena City Ramblers. Like the previous recording, this album was mastered at Sterling Sounds Studios in New York City under the watchful eye of legendary recording engineer Greg Calbi, but now displays the two fully matured brothers wielding the lion's share of responsibility in the production and recording process of the album. They are currently on tour in support of this release with plans to return to both North and South America. For more information you can visit their website at www.sonohraofficial.com.
